All eyes turned to LeBron James on Friday June 8th 2018 , after his Cavs got swept in the NBA finals by the new and seemingly ongoing dynasty that is the Golden state Warriors. The reason why everyone is looking at LeBron James this summer is  because he has a player option ( meaning that Lebron James can opt out of his contract with the Cavs and become a Free agent )

Throughout the year It has been widely known that Lebron is strongly considering to do so as he released a list of teams he would prefer to go to assuming he opts out . Those teams are , the Boston Celtics , Los Angeles Lakers , Philadelphia 76ers , and Houston Rockets. All LeBron James said after his game 4 loss was that “I Don’t know yet” , “ It’s going to be a family decision “. “ Then ultimately it will come down to me “. A lot of people say that , the Lakers are the best choice for Lebron and his family as Lebron already has a house in LA, his kids go to High School there , and James can mentor the young and upcoming talent that the Lakers have ,  for example, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram , all were impressive and showed a lot of potential in their rookie season this year .

This isn’t the first time that LeBron James will need to make a decision like this as he has had to do it twice before. In the 2010 off season. he betrayed his home town team the Cleveland Cavaliers and left to the Miami Heat to join Chris Bosh, and Dwane Wade and form a big 3 in Miami. However, it paid off in the end as LeBron left Ohio for four years to learn how to win, as he won two championships in four years with the Miami  Heat.

In the 2014 off-season,  James came home , he went back to Cleveland to deliver on his promise. That was bringing his hometown a championship, and James did just that ,as after losing the Warriors in the 2015 NBA finals. 

LeBron faced them again in the 2016 finals and this time he won !!!! He came back from a 3-1 deficit and beat the 73-9 Golden state Warriors, including a famous chase down block late in game 7 to keep the game tied and his teams hopes alive. However, in the 2017 NBA finals James lost again to the Warriors in 5 games after they acquired  Kevin Durant in the 2016 off-season  before once again losing this year in 2018.

June 15th 2018:  At least a top 8 player in the league in Kawhi Lenord  announced that he wants out of the San Antonio Spurs, saying that he is "Uncomfortable with the organization and how they treated his injury " this year .

The Spurs tried to convince Kawhi to want to come back to the Spurs( as Lenord demanded to be trade out of San Antonio) , but Kawhi's mind was set, and just like that he was off into trade world. 

Immediately after this news broke , another report came out saying that Lenord prefers to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then, it has been a trade war between the Celtics and the Lakers to land Lenord. But today, the      Lakers emerged as the clear front runner to land Lenord as they have an offer that the Spurs can't refuse, what that offer is remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure, Kawhi is most likely headed to the Lakers, it's just a matter of time. 

LEBRON WEEK:

This past week was LeBron week, as James has until tomorrow, (Friday June 29th 2018,11:59 PM) to opt out of his contract with the cavs. Chances are, he will do so but that won't indicate alone , where he is going next year. 

However, LeBron has been dropping hints this week about which team he wants to go to,  and has reportedly narrowed it down to staying with the cavs , or going to the Lakers.

However, today, reports came out that LeBron James texted Kevin Durant ( A 2 time Finals MVP and 2 time defending NBA champion with the Golden State  Warriors. to come join him next season on the Lakers.

Kevin Durant expectedly said no, but the point was , that LeBron James prefers to go the Lakers, however, just like kawhi  Lenord  , it's just a matter of time.

 PAUL GEORGE OPTS OUT: In an effort to try and get to his hometown team, the Los Angeles Lakers, Paul George( a 5 time Alll-star )   surprised nobody this morning, when he opted out of his contract with the OKC Thunder and become a Free agent. George said , after the announcement , that he is heavily considering going back to the Thunder ( assuming they give him more money) . But is also heavily considering going to the Lakers, But it seems more likely that he will go to the Lakers , as he has had his sights on is hometown team , basically his whole career.

LEFTOVERS:

The Golden State Warriors are eying Timberwolves rookie and shooting guard Jamal Crawford as he is after all ,a free agent.                             

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE CAN SEE A NEW BIG 3 ON THE LAKERS?
