The 2019 World Series is here! You ready for my prediction of who wins this Astros-Nats clash? Let’s get into it!
First let’s look at the starters for each game :
Game 1: Max Scherzer vs Gerit Cole
Game 2: Stephen Strasburg vs Justin Verlander
Game 3: Patrick Corbin vs Zack Greinke
Game 4: Anibal Sanchez vs Astros bullpen
Game 5: Scherzer vs Cole
Game 6: Strasburg vs Verlander
Game 7: All hands on deck!
PREDICTION: Astros in 6:
I think the Astros will do just enough damage to Scherzer in game 1 and be backed by another dominant performance by Gerit Cole and there bullpen locks it down for the game 1 win.
In game 2, I see the Astros jumping all over Strasburg in this one early and Verlander does enough, as the Astros win 4-2 to take a 2-0 series lead heading to Washington.
In game 2, I see the Nats getting back in the series as it is the first-ever WS home gem for the Nats and the fans will be absolutely rocking. Corbin feeds off of that and the Nats hammer Zack Greinke for a game 3 rout that gets them back in the series.
Game 4, is a toss up and I give it to the Astros because there bullpen has proved to only be another weapon for this team, and despite the good efforts by Sanchez in this one, the Astros are too strong in the end and take game 4 to pull themselves within a game of winning there 2nd WS in 3 years.
In game 5, the Nats rear back and pummel Cole and Houston, there pen is tired which leads to more runs as Washington wins 11-2 to keep there season alive and send the series back to Houston.
Game , will be wild as Strasburg and JV have a pitching duel for the ages. The game heads to extras and is evenly matched throughout. But in the 12th, Alex Bregman hits a double that scores a run and give the Astros a 3-2 win that finishes off an historic season with a Championship.
MVP: Alex Bregman
