A FOR SCHER WIN! MAX HURLS NATS TO 2-0 LEAD.

Once again the Nationals pitching rose to the occasion as Max Scherzer went 6 no-hit innings, 7 total of scoreless baseball with 11Ks, and the Nationals offense once again did enough to get the win as Washington expanded there lead to 2-0 with the series headed to DC, in this NLCS after a 3-1 win over the ST Louis Cardinals.

While Scherzer was doing his thing, the Nats offense received RBI knocks from Adam Eaton (2 runs double) and Michael A Taylor (Solo HR) as they were able to get to Adam Wainwright enough to back up Max Scherzer.

The Cardinals would score there 1st run of the NLCS in the 8th when Jose Martinez went deep, but that would be all they could muster as Sean Doolittle, Patrick Corbin and Daniel Hudson shut the door sealing the Nats 3-1 win and giving them a 2-0 NLCS lead.

MVP: Max Scherzer

LVP: Cardinals offense

UP NEXT:

The series shifts to DC on Monday (10/14) when Jack Flaharety will look to save the Cardinals against Stephen Strasburg.
