Dear Yankee fans
Well that was a disappointing weekend am I right ? I mean we had a good opening day, but since then, everything has gone downhill, as we lost the final two games to practically an AAA team in the Baltimore Orioles.
Now before you guys all jump on me about how the season is over, and Boone is costing us games ... just hear me out.
We have been here before.
Before Sunday’s series finale, I had a flashback to our first series against the Orioles last year, and how it ended.
If you don’t recall, we lost 3 out of the 4 games in that series, including a heartbreaking 8-7 extra-innings loss in the series finale in a game we led 5-0 early on.
That stunk at the time because we had the Bosox up next, and we lost 2 out of 3 in Fenway as well.
But what did we do soon after that?
We took off! We started to find our stride and defeated good teams at the time like the Red Sox, Indians, and Astros. Including punishing enemies like the O’s and Twins. That late, April to the middle of May run, catapulted us to eventually finishing the season at 100 wins, and locking down a playoff spot, even though we were as bad as we were to start the year.
So what I’m trying to say is, this is nothing new, and we should just try and get through it. Yes, I too am frustrated that we aren’t 3-0 right now, but that doesn’t mean we are done for by any means!
We will have plenty of chances to avenge the O’s as the season goes on, and we should know that, as we start a three-game series with the Detroit Tigers tonight.
The players are ready to move on from this, and so should us fans! Just keep pushing forward and keep your heads up high because good things are ahead!!!
