Dear Yankees
When this new era of baseball began in 2017, it was one of the most exciting times I’ve ever had being a Yankees fan. In the immediate years that followed, management continued to show their desire to get over that hump with their moves and advance to the World Series, something they couldn’t do in year one due to a group of cheaters. Yet the last couple years have suddenly put us in a tailspin, where we honestly don’t know what to expect entering this year. 2019 was an ALCS loss. 2020 was an ALDS loss, 2021 was a Wild Card loss. It puts the trajectory at missing the playoffs in 2022, which is why I said 87-75 but no playoffs in my predictions, especially since the offseason didn’t reflect you guys going all-in. Yet like 2017, maybe this group can shock the world again. So before you take the field today to begin the marathon that is 162 games, I have one request: Don’t tell me, show me how much you want #28. Surprise me! Be the Bronx Bombers you know you can be.
