Todd Frazier smacked two HRs and the Mets bullpen did enough to snap their 6 game losing streak as the Mets went into Citizens Bank Park and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 11-5 on Friday night in Philly.
It was a pitchers duel early and it didn’t seem the Mets would come out on the winning side as they trailed 1-0 after 6 with Aaron Nola out dueling Zach Wheeler and the lone run coming on a JT Realmunto sac fly.
But the Mets erupted late and it started with a game-tying RBI single by the red-hot Wilson Ramos in the 7th.
Then in the 8th, an Amed Rosario 2run single set the stage for a “Game breaker” 3run bomb by the red-hot Todd Frazier to give the Mets a commanding 6-1 lead.
In the 9th, the Mets poured it on as Michael Conforto went deep for a 2run shot before Frazier capped off the Mets outburst with a 3runHR of his own as the Mets stunned the Phillies 11-5 to take the first game of this series.
MVP: Todd Frazier
