ALL RISE! JUDGE LIFTS SURGING YANKEES TO WIN OVER BRAVES

Aaron Judge went deep once again to reclaim the lead atop the Major League HR board and Luke Voit made his presence felt by also going deep, as the Yankees built an 8-0 lead and never relinquished it, defeating the Braves 9-6 on Tuesday night (8/12) in the Bronx.

Back at home, the Bronx Bombers came to play, as Luke Voit smashed a 3run bomb off Atlanta starter Touki Toussaint in the 1st to give the Yankees an early 3-0 lead. In the 3rd, a Luke Voit Fielders choice and a Mike Ford 2 run double, extended the Yankees lead to 6, before another Aaron Judge bomb in the 5th, pushed the Yankees lead to 7-0. After another run scored, on a Mike Ford double play, Marcel Ozuna went deep for 3, off Jordan Montgomery, who went 6 innings of 3 run ball and departed with the Yankees in the drivers seat at 8-3. A late Atlanta rally, would force the Yankees to bring in their core relivers in Chad Green, Adam Ottavino, and Zack Brittion, but the Yankees would hang on for a 9-6 victory, with a late insurance run being a Mike Ford RBI double scoring Gleyber Torres.

UP NEXT: The Yankees will go for the sweep on Wednesday, when Masahiro Tanaka opposes Huascar Ynoa, who will serve as the “Opener” for the Braves. First pitch is 7:05PM
