Beez edge undermanned Macs, snap six game winning streak.

Well, it was another rollercoaster for the Yeshiva University roller hockey team. After Tuesday’s 10-4 win against the Narcs, they again hit the ISCA rink, this time to face the Killa Beez. Yet they were seriously understaffed, down to just four players.

With no subs in sight, Eitan Levy, Ariel Greenberg, Avraham Gellman, and Yonah Suissa had their work cut out. It's a testament to their grit and determination, especially for Eitan, who played his second game in 48 hours. Although, they did pull off a win with four players earlier this season against the Bulldogs.

Between the pipes was Micheal Mintz, who missed Tuesday’s game and was replaced by a sub-goalie. The start was promising, with Greenberg netting one from Suissa and Levy, making it 1-0 in the opening period. They kept the pressure on, outshooting the Beez 11-8 in the first frame.

However, as the game wore on, the Killa Beez started buzzing. They tied it up in the second period and even took the lead just before the break. It was not the situation they hoped for, especially as the third period began with a power play for the Beez due to a Levy roughing penalty.

They quickly added another goal, and it was 3-1. Greenberg wasn't giving up, though, and his nifty moves brought YU one goal closer. Both teams battled hard for more goals, but the Beez netted the next one with 5:15 remaining.

Even though Avraham Gellman scored in the final seconds with assists from Suissa and Levy, it was a little too late. The Beez hung on 4-3, outshooting the Macs 31-27.

While it's never fun to lose, this defeat doesn't dent Yeshiva’s confidence or their place atop the league. They have a playoff spot secured at 6-2. The other loss was a forfeit due to holidays so you can technically say this is the streak-snapper. The Macs are looking ahead to four grueling NCRHA games on Sunday, where they’re 2-1 on the season.

So, the boys will shake this one off and get back on track. Onward and upward!
