BIG SPORTS WEDNESDAY UPDATE 1/29/20.

I just want to say that a special tribute article will be coming out soon about NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who unfortunately was killed in a helicopter crash at 41 years old on Sunday, along with his 13 year old daughter Gigi and 7 others (Who will also be honored in the article).

Let’s take a look at what has been happening in the Sports world!

KNICKS: 13-36

The losses keep on coming. Losses to the Lakers (100-92), Raptors (118-112), Hornets in Charlotte (97-92) and Grizzlies at home 127-106 have sunk the Knicks further.

However a 110-97 win over the crosstown-rival Nets salvaged things at least a bit here. However, it came on the day that the sports world stopped to mourn the big loss that was Kobe Bryant, Gigi and 7 others in a tragic helicopter crash in California right outside of Los Angeles.

NETS: 20-26

This team continues too play Mediocre ball. They defeated the lowly Detroit Pistons twice (121-111 in OT and 125-117), while also dropping decisions to the 36-10 Lakers (128-113) and the crosstown rival Knicks.

Spencer Dinwidee changed his number from 8 to 26 in honor of Kobe. Why 26? Well one of the reasons were that him and his son were born in April, with him being the 20th and Spencer on the 6th.

RANGERS: 23-21-4

A 4-2 loss to the Islanders to finish the first half of the year. Still a 41 win team in my opinion.

Pannarin unfortunately didn’t play because of an upper-body injury, so we hope it’s a one-time thing.

ISLANDERS: 29-15-5

3rd In the Metro division going into the break is a good place. The isles will look to rise in the rankings in the second half of the year, with the fastest skater in the league in Mathew Barzel, who finished his lap of the ice in 13.75 seconds, as opposed to the runner-up and superstar Conner Mcdavid at 13.78.
