Arguably the best OF in this years free agent class besides Bryce Harper is off the market. AJ Pollock‘s run in Arizona is over, as he agreed to a 4 year $55 million deal ( With a player opt- out in year 3) with NL West rival Los Angeles Dodgers, according to reports.
This is a good pickup for the Dodgers, as they have found a replacement for Yasuiel Puig, who the Dodgers traded to the Reds in blockbuster deal earlier in the offseason. The reason why the Dodgers did originally did that deal, by trading away their franchise player is too clear cap space for Bryce Harper.
But now , it’s looking less likely, that Harper comes to Hollywood,as the Phillies seem to be the huge favorites to land the superstar.
However, the Dodgers are not giving up just yet, as reports have come out that the Dodgers are working on a deal with the White Sox involving OF Joc Peterson, though nothing is Imminent.
This move would make room for Harper in the Dodgers OF, and should they get Harper, the Dodgers would be looking like every bit of a championship team, that can stand up to the big foes in the American League.
Not only are the Dodgers, trying to increase their OF. They are also looking to increase their depth at the catching position,as reports say that despite the price being really high, the Dodgers seem determined to trade for All Star JT Reamalnto from the Miami Marlins.
We will know more on these potential trades involving the Dodgers in the coming days.
