The Mookie Betts free agency saga is over before it has even started. On Wednesday, the superstar agreed to a 12 year $365 million extension, with the Dodgers, and when you add on the 1 year and $27 million on his current contract, this totals it out to be a 13 year $392 million deal for Betts. Los Angels locking up the 28 year-old Betts, means they will likely be in contention for years to come with Mookie and co-star Cody Bellinger leading the way. After pocketing the richest contract in the history of the illustrious franchise in the Dodgers, the new era in Dodgers town, is set to take off on Thursday Night July 23rd, when the Dodgers host the Giants at Dodger Stadium. Mookie will make his long-awaited Dodgers debut,as the 4 time gold Glover, 2018 MVP and 2018 World Series champion was traded to from Boston this past offseason, after the two sides were unable to agree to an extension, and Betts contract year looming. That isn’t the case now for the Dodgers, as they have locked up another franchise star and will watch as Clayton Kershaw takes the hill tomorrow against Johnny Cueto at 10:08PM ET, with Betts in Dodgers Blue. Congratulations Dodgers fans, your getting an amazing player. Enjoy him!
