🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: BRITTION IS BACK IN NY!

The Yankees have resigned Zach Britton to a 4 year $53 million deal with a team option deal according to multiple reports, including yours truly! (Okay that was a joke).

The deal is another weird one!

The Yankees can inject their team option for the deal ( Which is in the 4th year) in year 2. However, if the Yankees decline , then Brittion can opt out , as that will be tuned into a 4th year player option. Should Zach still choose to stay, the extra $13 million will kick in.

Zach was one of the relievers, the Yankees wanted to have , especially after David Robertson went to the Phillies.

However, this Brittion pursuit was probably happening anyway, as we received reports before Robertson’s decision that the Yankees were going to try and bring back Zach.

The Yankees acquired Brittion from the Baltimore Orioles in July of 2018, for 3 prospects. Brittion performed well in NY considering he was hurt until June while playing for Baltimore.

Brittion has arguably the best sinker in baseball, which is why the Yankees made the trade then with the rebuilding O’s and they brought him back now.

OTHER NEWS:

The Rays acquired starting pitcher Oliver Drake from the Toronto Blue Jays for Cash considerations. This move boosters the rotation for Tampa Bay.

The Texas Rangers signed pitchers Luke Farrel, Adrian Simpson and Rafel Monterey as they try to I crest their pitching depth.

The Yankees have become heavy favorites for Adam Ottivino , Who they hope will fill in that last spot in the bullpen.

The Red Sox are heavy favorites to bring back star closed Craig Kimbrel , as the market for him is “ Crazy low”, with the Sox seemingly the only team left in those sweep stakes.

Kimbrel wanted a 6 year $100 million deal. The Sox don’t have enough to give him that, but Boston doesn’t have enough money to do that.

In my opinion, they will offer him less and he will take it as his only opt, which is to sign with Boston.

FAN OPINIONS:

Eddie Hamway says, the Yankees should just settle for Brittion and trust Jonathan Holder to take that last big spot, while putting German/Cessa, in that pen to fill that spot.
