It has been a year to remember for Patrick Mahomes, and Chiefs Kingdom. On Monday, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs agreed to the largest deal in sports history at 10 years $503 million, with $477 million guaranteed. The deal also includes player options and a no-trade clause, giving Mahomes full control of the deal. Patrick still has 2 years and $27.6 million remaining on his current deal, before the record-extension kicks in until 2031. The extra two years brings theMahomes total to 12 years, $530.6 million for KC. This deal passes Mike Trout’s 12 year $430 million extension with the Angles in 2019. Mahomes has only played 3 years in the NFL, but has already made a name for himself with the Chiefs; with an NFL MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, 2 pro-bowl appearances, 2 NFL first-teams and was also the first QB to ever throw 50 TD’s in a season. The 24-year-old will enter the 2020 season as the face of football and a reigning Super Bowl champion. I know me, the rest of the NFL community ,and especially Chiefs Kingdom are excited to see what he does over the next 12 seasons presumably for the Kandas City Chiefs.
