In need of Infield depth, the Yankees acquired veteran 1B/DH Kendrys Morales and cash from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Tuesday night.
Morales (35) , had been a Yankees killer in his time with the Toronto Blue Jays from 2016-2018, before being traded to the A’s in the offseason. Morales hasn’t gotten off to a great start at the plate , this season, as his average has dropped to .204,which is below his career average at .267, which led to the A’s trading him. Morales is a former silver slugger award winner, as he won it in 2015, along with a World Championship while on the Kandas City Royals that same year.
The Yankees hope that Morales will provide them some reliable depth, just like the “New York Railriders” have been able to do this year, while their starters recover from injury.

I like the move! Always great to add more depth. Also we have someone to back up Voit if he ever needs a day off or something like that.
