The Corona Virus continues to effect the Sports world.
NBA:
The league suspended their season last night and will meet today, and in two weeks about what to do going forward. They’ve considering resuming in mid-April and skipping straight to the playoffs.
It also came out this morning that in addition to Rudy Gobert, another Utah Jazz player in superstar Donovan Mitchell has also come down wit the CoronaVirus.
Last night, the NBA G-League canceled the season.
5 TEAMS QUARANTINED:
The NBA is taking precaution by ordering teams that have faced off against the Jazz in recent days to self-quarantined. Those teams are the Knicks, Cavs, Pistons, Celtics and Raptors.
NHL:
They will follow suit and suspend the season just like the NBA. The Rangers fell 3-2 in Colorado last night to the Avalanche, but took it to OT, gaining a point. They’re a game out in the Wild Card race with 12 games to go, but it doesn’t seem to matter now.
The NHL seems likely to follow the NBA in their resumption process.
NHL players say that a 2-3 week suspension, a short continuation of a sub-82-game reg. season and then a truncated playoffs with shorter opening series would be best for them. But playing into July is also an option according to reports.
MLS:
Season suspended as well.
MLB:
Spring Training has been suspended after today. The regular season is likely to have a delayed start to it.
NCAA:
“The following conferences have canceled their men's basketball tournaments because of the coronavirus.
SEC
ACC
Big Ten
Big 12
Pac-12”
-ESPN
Also reports have surfaced that March Madness will be canceled altogether instead of just not having fans in the arenas.
