Well, the Yankees must go into “Next Man up” mode once again, and we aren’t even in Spring Training yet. According to the Yankees, “LHP James Paxton underwent a microscopic lumbar discectomy with removal of a peridiscal cyst. The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Dossett in Dallas, Texas. His approximate timeline to return to Major League action is 3-4 months.” GM Brian Cashman added, that Jordan Montgomery, Luis Cessa and Micheal King will compete for that empty spot in the rotation while Paxton is out due to injury, and German is serving his 63 game suspension due to DMA.
