The best 3rd basemen in baseball is headed to the American League. Anthony Rendon will be joining the best player in baseball, Mike Trout and 2018 Rookie of the Year, in Shoie Ohtani on the Los Angeles Angles. The deal is 7 years $245 million, which is what now former teammate Stephen Strasburg got to return to the Nationals.
The LA Dodgers were pushing hard for Rendon, just like they were for Gerit Cole, before they were beaten out by a team from the AL East.
The Angels came into this offseason needing two starting pitchers, a catcher and a 3rd basemen. They lost out on Cole, but have gotten a 3B in Rendon, who is the best of the best in that position.
The Angles went 72-90 in 2019 and that record is likely to improve with Rendon.
