🚨 BREAKING: STANTON TO MISS OPENING DAY WITH CALF STRAIN.

The injuries unfortunately continue to happen. Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton will miss the first 2 weeks of the 2020 season with a calf strain. Stanton only played 18 games last season due to multiple injuries, and was supposed to come roaring back in 2020. But as we see now, that comeback has at least been delayed. The Yankees do have a lot of depth at the DH/LF position to cover for Stanton , as Mike Tauchman, Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier and Tyler Wade will man the position while Stanton recovers. The hope is that this is the only injury that keeps him out and he is healthy the rest of the way. Unfortunately for Stanton, he has been injury prone ever since he arrived to NY, and has not lived up to the 10 year $325 million contract that is on the Yankees salary books. This news comes one day after, it was announced that ace Luis Severino would miss the entire 2020 season due to Tommy John surgery. So far, this is part 2 of the “Next man up” mantra the Yankees have installed in themselves.
