BRING OUT THE BROOMS! YANKEES FLEX MUSCLES TO COMPLETE SWEEP OF O’S!

Even the Yankees admitted it last night. Even though they won, they didn't play their best baseball, and with one game in between their flight to Houston for a three-game showdown with the Astros, the Yankees needed this 15-3 drubbing of the Orioles on Sunday to complete the three-game sweep. This was a game where the Yankees got out to an early lead, and never looked back, as they slugged 7HRS en route to victory.

The Bombers wasted no time getting to Baltimore starter David Hess, as Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier socked HRs in the third to give the Yankees an early 2-0 lead.

The HR party didn't stop there, as in the 4th, Gary Sanchez went deep for a 2runHR that gave the Yankees a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the 6th, the Yankees finally scored a run without a HR, as Clint Frazier brought home Gleyber Torres to extend the Yankees lead to 5-0.

In the 7th, the Yankees continued to hammer Baltimore pitching, as Gary Sanchez mashed his second 2runHR of the game, before DJ LeMaihu , and Gio Urshela each brought home a run, with an RBI single apiece to give the Yankees a commanding 9-0 lead.

In the 8th, Gary Sanchez completed his hat trick, when he launched a 2runHR to left field, to push the Yankees run total to double digits, as they led 11-3.

In the 9th, the Yankees completed their day of mashing, as Clint Frazier completed his outstanding series, with a 2run blast of his own, before Austin Romine went deep off the new O's pitcher Hanser Alberto to give the Yankees a 15-3 lead, which would be the final score.

As for the Yankees pitching, starter Domingo German, was brilliant, as he pitched 5 no hit innings, before finally giving up a hit to Ex Yankee Hanser Alberto in the 6th. German was charged two runs in the 7th, when Stephen Tarpley started throwing wild pitches , allowing two runs to cross home plate.

Another run would come in that inning, on an Alberto RBI single, that proved to be the last run of the series for Baltimore, as Luis Cessa pitched 2 scoreless frames to end it.

STATS TO KNOW:

The Yankees broke a record on Sunday , after Sanchez went deep for the first time . Those two runs via that longball made it 18 straight Yankees runs, that have come from the HR. A franchise record.

The Yankees broke another franchise record on Sunday, as the 13HRs this series, are the most in a 3 game series against Baltimore All-Time.

The 7Hrs in this contest are the most in a by a Yankees team since 2007, when they went deep 8 times in a win over the Chicago White Sox.

It was the first time the Yankees went deep 7 times in road game since 1931 against the Boston Red Sox.
