The Rangers may her been swept by the East-best Bruins, but man did we learn a lot about this team, and what they can be moving forward.
THE GAMES:
A 3-2 overtime loss, followed by a tightly contested 1-0 loss, forces the Rangers to leave this two game series empty handed in the standings, but productive in the team morale.
Despite blowing a one goal lead twice in game one, they hung around, and forced overtime, before Brad Marchand went top-shelf on Alexander Georgiev to finish it off. Then, in a game without Artemi Panarin, band Filip Chytil, this team put up. A fight, with Igor stopping 29 of 30 shots(15 of 16 in the second), while the offense peppered Bruins backup net minder Jaraslov Halak. However, the Rangersmain culprit continues tone Mika Zibanejad, and there power play with NY going 0/6 in this one on the man advantge, with Mika unable to put away numerous opportunities and it came back to haunt them, as a tally by Nick Ritchie, gave Boston the only goal of the contest. The Bluehshirst had a 6on 4 for the final 62 seconds, but were stymied by the deeper, and more experienced Bruins, who eked out the win.
WHAT WE LEARNED:
This team is fearless, and will not make it easy on their opponent, no matter who is out there. David Quinn has his boys playing hard, and physical, when this team is supposed to be in a. rebuild. Also, when you consider the fact that you play each team in your division eight times this season, I like what I’m saying from the guys in red, white, and blue.
