CAN’T WIN EM ALL! JAYS POUND YANKS, SNAP STREAK.

Well you know what they say, “Streaks are meant to be broken” and the Yankees were faced with that reality on Friday night (8/9), as JA Happ struggled against his former team and the Yankees bats went silent against Sean-Reid Folly as the Toronto Blue Jays pounded the Yankees 8-2 to snap the Bombers 9 game winning streak.

Happ was not good early and often, as the Jays got to him right away with a Randal Grichuk 2run HR in the first and a Teoscar Hernandez solo blast in the second that gave Toronto a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the 4th, the Yankees bench emptied right at the umpire as they were upset with the strike zone and even though he didn’t say anything, it was Brett Gardner who got thrown out of the ballgame.

Although this didn’t change the call, it was Camron Maybin and not Gardner who shouted “That’s a terrible call” at the ump.

But like most Yankees ejections do this year (If not all of them), it fired the team up as Mike Tauchman went deep a few pitches later to give the Yankees life and cut the Toronto lead down to 3-1.

But just as the Yankees seemed to have life, the Jays got to Happ again in the bottom half of the 4th, as Danny Jansen (After a DJ LeMahieu miss timed pop up) crushed a 3run HR that gave the Blue Jays a commanding 6-1 lead.

Mike Ford would go deep again in the 7th, but only to answered by a 2run blast by Hernandez that put the nail in the Yankees coffin as the Blue Jays rolled to an 8-2 win.

MVP: Teoscar Hernandez

THOUGHTS:

Well, you can’t win em all. We were going to have one of these games eventually anyway.

9-1 in our last 10 is still amazing and we can’t forget that.

It’s one game and we have a chance to avenge that on Saturday, so let’s go out there and take our revenge.

Let’s go Yankees!!!

HIGGY TO AAA, SANCHEZ RETURNS!!

After the game, Yankees optioned Kyle Higashioka to Triple-A and reinstated Gary Sanchez from the 10 day IL.

UP NEXT:

The Yankees will look to retake the series lead on Saturday, when they go with Chad Green to serve as their “Opener” against the Jays “Opener” in Wilmer Font.

Game time is 3:07 PM.
