DEGROMINANT: METS BACK ON TRACK AFTER WIN OVER ROX.

Jacob deGrom struck out nine over six innings of one-run ball Thursday night, leading the New York Mets to a 3-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. DeGrom (3-1, 2.15 ERA) retired the first 13 batters, eventually allowing three hits and walking one. He has struck out 46 while walking just two in 29.1 innings spanning five starts since his return. Pete Alonso’s majestic two run blast in the third held up as Colorado stranded the bases loaded against Seth Lugo in the seventh, before Edwin Diaz and his trumpets took care of the eighth, and Adam Ottavino recorded his first save as a Met in the ninth.
