I’m telling you man! There is something memorable and special brewing in Queens! The Mets did it again on Wednesday night (8/21) as they rallied to walk off the Cleveland Indians 4-3 in extras in front of exploding fans of jubilation at Citi Field.
The night as usual didn’t start out to well for the Mets as starter Marcus Stroman left the game with left hamstring tightness and the Mets behind 1-0. But then, RBI knocks by Juan Lagres and Luis Guillorme in the 5th gave the Mets a 2-1 lead.
In the 8th, with the game now tied at 2, Seth Lugo came in and pitched 2 scoreless frames to send the game to extras.
In the 10th, Carlos Santana demolished a 2 out solo blast off Luis Avilan to give the Indians a 3-2 lead and silent the raucous Citi Field crowd.
But then in the bottom of the 10th, the Mets rallied off of one of the best closers in the game Brad Hand, as Amed Rosario started the inning off with a double, before a successful Joe Panik bunt moved him to 3rd. An intentional walk to Pete Alonso set the stage for Michael Conforto who grounded into what seemed like a game-ending double play but was safe at 1st because of Brad Hands lack of awareness to cover first allowing Rosario to score from 3rd and tie the game at 3!
Later in the inning, JD Davis on the 9th pitch of the at bat lined one to left that scored Alonso and “Blew the roof” of of Citi Field as the Mets shocked the Indians 4-3.

Destiny!!! This team is amazing! This run is amazing! It’s only a matter of time before they get that second Wild Card!! Keep it up boys!!!!!!
