Once again on Saturday (8/10) one night after the biggest and most improbable Mets win of the season, they needed a savior to keep the winning streak and this hit stretch of epic proportions alive .
That savior was Luis Gillumore, Who’s solo blast in the 8th started yet another improbable come from behind Mets victory 4-3 over the Nationals at Citi Field that saw them pull to within one or game of Washington in the NL Wild Card race with their 8th straight win and 15th in their last 16 games.
Once again, it didn’t seem like the Mets would clinch this series early on, as Juan Soto went deep for a 2run HR in the 1st off Mets starter Noah Syndergaard, who like his teammate Stroman, was phenomenal after one bad inning going 7 innings of 2 run ball.
Once again, the Mets bats picked their starter up, as JD Davis and Wilson Ramos once again went back 2 back, this time being HRs as the Mets tied it up at 2 after 4.
In the 8th, Soto went deep once again, as the Mets -Killer put the Nats in front 3-2.
But not even him could stop this Mets attack on the league, as Luis Gillumore answered Washington back with a solo blast of his own in the 8th for his first MLB HR, before a Davis sac fly gave the Mets the lead for good as Seth Lugo closed it out in the 9th for the Mets 8th straight and 15th in their last 16 with a 4-3 win.
THOUGHTS:
Insane!!! Deja VU all over again!! Insane!
This team is something special man, cant wait to see how the rest of the year plays out for them!
