Andrew Benintendi hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the seventh inning, his first as a Bomber since getting traded at the deadline by the Royals and the New York Yankees got a win they desperately needed, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 Sunday to avoid a four-game sweep. Nestor Cortest went 6 innings of two run ball and, and Lou Trivino went 2.1 scoreless to preserve the lead and give the bullpen an extra day of rest headed into the upcoming Subway series with the rollicking Mets. The Yankees avoided the four game sweep and won for the 10th time in 30 games. You have to start somewhere right?
