FRENZY FRIDAY UPDATE: “TAKE THAT KP”!

Just wanted to give a weekly update on what else is happening in the sports world’ so let’s get into it.

KNICKS: 3-9

We two more games! The first one happened on Friday night (11\8)) in Dallas, when the Knicks defeated nemesis, Kristaps Porzingis and the Mavericks 106-102. This was the first meeting since the blockbuster January 31st trade that saw the Knicks essentially land Marcus Morris, Julias Randle, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis among others. While KP (20 points) and reigning ROY Luka Doncic (33 points) made their presence felt in this one, 29 points by Marcus Morris, 21 from Julias Randle and a eye-popping 14 from Frank Natkilia, propelled the Knicks to victory.

The game was tied at 92 with a few minutes to go in the 4th, before Marcus Morris erupted for five straight points, wish was followed by clutch buckets by Randle and Taj Gibson to complete the 9-0 run and give the Knicks a 101-92 lead with 3 minutes to go.

The Mavs would rally however, as clutch shots by KP, Luka and former Knick Tim Hardway JR got them back in the game, but some more clutchness from Randle sealed the Knicks win despite missing 5 of 8 Free Throws down the stretch.

Then 5 days later, following pathetic losses at home to the Cavs (108-87) and on the road to the Bulls(120-102), the Knicks squared off against the Mavs at MSG, were the crazed crowd was “On top of their negative game” seemingly keeping the life out of Kristaps Porzingis and letting them know how they felt about him demanding and even threatening management to leave NY.

MSG reporter Alan Hahn said it best “ Tonight was also the perfect example of what I said earlier this week regarding how New York fans treat their players: you’re family. You get criticized when you’re bad, you get spoiled with love when you’re good. And when you leave, you feel the wrath.”

So even before the ball tipped you could feel a playoff-type bud in the air at the Mecca.

It was a back and forth game all night, with Luka dropping 33 and Kristaps pouring in 20, despite going 7-17 from the field and as the game went on, it seemed like the “KP stinks” and the “Traitor” chants, got to him. The crowd seemed to energize the teams to hang in there and grind it out, as we found ourselves tied at 101 with 13 seconds left, before Marcus Morris came up big again with the 3 pointer, which sent the Garden faithful

Into jubilation as they would finish off a season series sweep of the Mavs winning it 106-103 on Thursday night (11/14), while also doing one last rendition of “KP stinks” before heading home.

NETS: 4-7

This five game road trip has been one to forget. Sure it was nice to win a game if your Brooklyn 119-115 over the Blazers, despite blowing a 16 point lead and having Damian Lillard drop 60 points on you, but it’s all been downhill after that.

The defense has been awful, no bigger then it’s 138-112 demoralizing loss to the young and upcoming Phoniex Suns.

We also found out, that the Nets can’t stop themselves from blowing leads, as they unfortunately blew an 18 point lead to the Utah Jazz In a 119-114 loss, before blowing a 16 point lead to the Nuggets 2 days later in a 101-93 loss which drops them to 4-7.

Despite the losses, Kyrie Irving, Spencer and Jarret Allen continue to shine.

RANGERS: 8-7-2:

The inconsistency continues. We followed up a 4-2 win over the Hurricanes with a 6-5 shootout loss to the Floria Panthers at home, which is a team we are chasing the WC race. But, we bounced back win over the red-hot Penguins at home , where Kappo Kakko , Adam Fox And Artemi Pannarin went beast mode, with Kappo scoring the OT goal to win it 3-2.

As we headed into Tampa Bay on Thursday (11/14), I was feeling confident in the Rangers that they could keep the good vibes going. Then a 9-3 loss happened which has left Rangers fans bummed heading into the weekend.

ISLANDERS: 13-3-1

Just keep on winning! Wins over the Panthers (2-1) and the Maple Leafs (5-4), following that tough OT loss to the Penguins have kept the red-hot Islanders in the conversation for the best team in the Eastern Conference led by Josh Bailey and Mathew Barzel.

JETS DEFEAT GIANTS:

The Jets have won the Snoopy Bowl 34-27. They did it on the back of a turnover-free Sam Darnold and a defensive beast in Jamal Adams.

As for the Giants, Daniel Jones threw 4TDs(3 to Daryouis Slayton), big also Constantly fumbled the ball, no bigger then when Jamal Adams stripped the ball and ran it back for a Jets TD. Also, Saquon Barkley only rushed for 1 yard in this one.
