Tonight, the YDE Thunder learned what “Home court advantage “ gets you , in their Heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the MTA Lions , on Wednesday night(10/31) at the Lions den .
When the game started , the Thunder took the play right at the Lions , and scored when Sammy ripped a shot that hit the back post and came right back out.
However , the refs didn’t rule it that way , waving the goal off , and the game stayed 0-0.
This was a physical game , a defensive stare down for most of the 1st period, until the Lions struck twice when Akiva Kra scored one in front of the net, before Ezra Landa socked a curveball into the net , to give MTA a 2-0 lead.
However , the Thunder came right back , when Bobby Tawil followed up his own shot with a goal , that cut the YDE deficit to 2-1 after 1.
With momentum, on their side YDE scored again, when Bobby Tawil knocked home his second of the game to tie this contest at 2.
The game went back into back and forth play after that, with Charles Sulatan making some incredible saves , to keep the game tied .
With 1:10 to go in the second, Sulatans net came off , but their was no call , and that gave the MTA offensemen , just the room he needed to hit one home , and give MTA a 3-2 lead .
The Thunder were furious, at that clear no call and litt into the refs . The argument went in for several minutes, but the refs stood by their call , and YDE went to the locker room, down 3-2.
In the 3rd period, the game was back and forth again, before Chaim Davidowitz hit paydirt in front of the net , to give the Lions a 2 goal lead with 7 minutes to go.
Try as they might , the Thunder couldn’t get the puck past MTA net minder Shemual Rosenthal ,who made some incredible saves , keeping the Lions ahead.
However , that’s when the no call came , as an MTA defensemen covered the puck in front of the net (Multiple times actually) , and no penalty was called , ( On one of them the puck went in , but the refs ruled a cover up)
Bobby Tawil would complete his hat trick with 1:13 left in the game , to cut the Thunder deficit I 4-3, but some great saves by Shemual, kept YDE at bay , and improved the Lions record to 1-1 on the season, while the Thunder dropped to 0-2.

When asked about Tuesdays upcoming home opener against Ramaz , Marvin said something , that was directed at the YDE fan base

We are playing the feisty Ramaz Rams and we are going to need all the support we can get , if we are going to start turning this season around !!!!!!!
