Pete Alonso , Michael Conforto ( Also hit a solo HR) and Jeff McNeil all crushed 2run HRs and Steven Matz went 6.2 innings of 2 run ball, as the Mets completed a 4 game sweep of the Marlins today, their 3rd sweep in the last 4 series. This is the Mets 6th straight win, 13th out of their last 14, and 19th out of their last 25.
The win pulls the Mets to within 1 game of the NL Wild card spot and whittles their magic number to clinch a playoff spot down to 48.
Up next for the Mets is a big 3 game series against one of the teams they are chasing in the Washington Nationals.

THOUGHTS:
Tip of the cap to the Mets for an amazing last 2 weeks! I know they have played bad teams, but you still have to go out there and win those games and the Mets have done that!
To be honest, I think Alonso will break Judges rookie record of 52Hrs as he already has 37 now. On Matz, even though he didn’t do as great as his pitchers before him he was good today. A few mistakes, but he did a good job working up and down in the zone with his fastball and off-speed pitches.
The ground ball machine known as Matz induced a lot of double plays which was great to see.
Now the real test will begin this weekend against the Washington Nationals. Buckle up!! Here we go!

What a win! Theres nothing better then when Alonso, McNeil and Conforto are all on fire! Those guys are the heart of the team and this run!
Love the fact we took advantage of bad teams during these last couple of weeks! It has put us in a good position going forward, as we will now show the league who the Mets really are when we go against the top teams in the NL.
Our bullpen is still inconsistent, but if Familia and Diaz improve. We are golden!
I said a couple of weeks ago that If the Mets go 8-3 in their next 11 games, we have a shot. They went 10-1!!

Love it! If they keep on scoring runs like they are and there starting pitching pitches continues to be the best starting rotation in baseball. They will be a WC team!
