It has happened! For the first time ever, the Washington Nationals are headed to the World Series!! They capped it off with a 7-4 win over the ST Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night (10/15) completing the NLCS sweep. The Nats used a 7 run 1st inning to start the party as Anthony Rendon (Sac fly), Juan Soto, Victor Robles( Bloop single), Yan Gomes( 2run single) and Trea Turner(2 rum single) all knocked in runs in the 1st inning off Cardinals starter Dakaota Hudson.
As for the Nats pitching, Patrick Corbin looked good early before running out of gas and allowing the Cardinals to show some life as Yadier Molina took him deep in the 4th, before a Tommy Edman RBI groundout and a Jose Martinez 2 run double crept the Cardinals closer at 7-4.
But the Nationals now Red-hot Bullpen came to the rescue, as Tanner Rainy, Sean Doolittle and Daniel Hudson would record the final 12 outs and officially send the Nationals to there 1st ever World Series!
The NLCS MVP went to Howie Kendrick and why not! Kendrick continued his late NLDS surge by hitting for a .333 average and 12 RBIS in the 4 game sweep.
In my opinion, the NLCS LVP heads to the Cardinals offense. The team that scored 10 runs in the 1st inning of game 5 in the NLDS against Atlanta was nowhere to be found this series. It was a good season for the NL Central Champions from ST Louis, but it ended with a thud.

I’m really happy for the Nationals, they are heading to their first World Series in franchise history.
A lot of people wrote them off (Including me) after their biggest star in franchise history left for their division rival (In Bryce Harper) and when they started off 19-31. But they went 72-40 to finish out the regular season and kept on going despite having the least amount of wins of the five NL Playoff teams in 91.
They rallied down 3-0 in the NL Wild Card game, down 2-1 to the 106 win Dodgers as well as being down 3-0 in game 5. But they won that and then punished the Cardinals to advance to the World Series.
You earned it Washington.
