JDSA FRIDAY RECAP: SEASON HAS INTENSIFIED!

In the “ CSL” on Friday, Ikey Abadi clutch’d up with a three-run bomb to lift the Airheads past the Fireballs 8-6, for their first win of the season, while Skittles improved to 2-0, with a 14-0 KO of the Jawbreakers to remain undefeated. We also had a slugfest between the Jolly Ranchers, and the Pop Rocks that came down to the wire, but it was the Ranchers who were the ones feeling “Jolly” as they left the field, just barley hanging on 11-10, to improve to 1-1 on the season.

The “SPL” (Soda Pop league) affairs saw crooked numbers being put up on scoreboards across the diamonds, with wins by team Gatorade, Pepsi, DR pepper, and Grape Juice.

Looking to get into the Shabbat mode early, Grape Juice put on a fielding clinic against team Snapple, with some great defense backing a complete game shutout by Joey Calhou (4K’s) in addition to an Eddie Dwcek home-run, and a Solly Turkieh RBI single, contributing to a 4-0 win.

Ezra Bailey had two hits, and knocked in two, and Morris Dwcek had four hits as team Root Beer planted the “Roots” for what they hope will be the start of a championship season, in a 10-6 win over DR Pepper.

Bobby Tawil knocked in two, as Gatorade defeated 7 up 8-3 to open the season. Jack Shrem picked up where he left off after winning “Game MVP” in the 6th grade only league on Thursday, by pitching a gem with a couple strikeouts mixed in there as well.

Abie Shamah drove in three, and Mourad Faham, Jack Nakash, and David Asolin drove in runs, as Pepsi took down Coke in a tightly-contested affair 7-6.
