MANNY MACHADO RUMORS: IT'S A REMATCH OF 09 FALL CLASSIC EVERYONE!

The GM and Owners meetings have gone by, and here we are well into free agency, and no noise has really been made yet. Well that is about to change, thanks to Manny Machado.

We got a fresh batch of Machado rumors everyone, so hang tight ,because here we go!

First we need to look at the pros and cons of Manny Machado, so we can see what teams have to look over, when they debate whether they want to go all in, for arguably the top free agent on the market in what many people say is the greatest Free agent class ever!

PROS:

Manny is 26 years old and is entering the prime of his career ,he has had an incredible first seven years, with the Baltimore Orioles ,and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Machado is a 4 time all star, and a three time all star MVP, as well as a two time Gold Glove winner, and a defensive player of the year award in 2013.

Manny has a lot of power but is known for producing runs, and doing really well with RISP!

Macahdo can play third and shortstop, either way he has proven to be one of the best infielders in the game!

CONS:

Manny has been some controversy, especially in 2018.

Manny slid hard into second base in a regular season game, and ended the season, of Red Sox stud Dustin Pedrioa, in a regular season game, thus starting a season long feud with the Red Sox.

Machado has been quoted saying that he doesn't hustle

" I'm not the type of player that's going to be Jhonny Hustle" " That's not my personality cup of tea, that's not who I am".

Manny made some "Dirty plays" during the playoffs , igniting brawl when stepping on Jeuses Aguliars heel during the NLCS.

In game two of the World Series, Manny was fined $1,000 for illegal sign stealing in the World Series ,with went with the undisclosed amount for steeping on Aguilar.

In game 4 , Manny also stepped on World Series MVP Steve Pearce's back foot at first base, but wasn't fined, guess that looked unintentional.

HOWEVER:

Manny has been known to own up to his mistakes this season, and former teammates have described him as a " Leader" in the clubhouse.

SO WHO WANTS HIM?

Well ,their are two teams that need him, and it sounds like they will reportedly go all in for him, and those two teams, are the New York Yankees ,and the Philadelphia Phillies!!!!!

THE CASE FOR THE PHILLIES:

The Phillies need better infeilding depth, and who better on the market than Manny Macho?

If the Phillies get him, it will be a big boost for them, as they are constantly adding long talent, and look to skyrocket in their rebuild plan.

The Phillies finished 80-82,in 2018.

Manny will most likely be signed to a 5 year deal in free agency, the question is how much?

the Phillies have $80 million to spend on free agents this offseason.

But they are also going after big star Bryce Harper, who is worth a 10 year mega deal in right field so we will see what happens there.

However, the Phillies are known for bringing in reliable players who can hustle, so their is the down side in Philly.

THE CASE FOR THE YANKEES:

They definitely need a shortstop now that starter Didi Gregarious has been sidelined for a chunk of the 2019 season. Manny has reportedly said that his first choice is the Yankees in Free agency, but the question is ,do the Yankees want him?

What fears the Yankees is his on field personality, as owner Hal Steinbrenner came out saying at the owners meetings, that Manny's hustle " Won't fly in New York".

Hal also said, that Macho needs to have a heart to heart talk to yankees GM Brian Cashman, but this is hardly a surprise, as this usually happens when the Yankees want to pursue a big time free agent.

In fact, Brian responded to Hal by saying that " Not hustling doesn't necessarily make you a bad player". However, also knows that needs to be fixed with Manny.

In an interview Manny owned up to his lack of hustle and know he has to take care of it.

The Yankees have a lot of money to spend this offseason, in fact more than the Phillies at $122 million!

But the Yankees will use some of that money for starting pitching, and contract extensions, however will still have more than enough for Machado!

SO WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO LAND HIM?

Honestly i think it welcome down to who trusts Machado more in 2019 ,and beyond, as well as the money.

Both teams have a lot of money, but knowing both teams history, I think the Yankees management will put more faith in Machado than the Phillies, and get him to the Bronx on a five year deal.

It will create more depth in the young infield for the Yankees, and give them more powers as well on the offensive side of the ball.

NOTE:

That amount of money is most likely how much each team will spend this offseason, but the Yankees do have more salary room than the Phillies.

HARPER RUMORS:

Star , and arguably the face of the game Bryce Harper wants to go to the Yankees, in Free Agency, but the Bombers don’t want him, because they already have a deep outfield, so it seems like Harpers second choice is reportedly the Chicago White Sox .

YANKEES PITCHING THOUGHTS:

I think the Yankees will trade Sonny Gray for a reliver , obtain JA Happ and then acquire Bronx native Patrick Corbin who is waiting with open arms in free agency.
