In a potential win or go home game, the Rambam Ravens defeated the YDE Thunder 6-0, on Tuesday night (1/29), at the Thunder Dome. The loss was a sour end to YDES season, as they finish 2-6-2.
The game started, and YDE came out flying. Seeing how they can potentially affect the playoff picture with a win, they put pressure on the Ravens defense, and Rambam goaltender, Judah Orlanski, who stood tall for his team.
As for the Ravens, they put pressure on YDE backup goalie Jacob Sutton( Who replaced Charles Sulatan, who was out with an illness).
Both goalies and defenses stood tall, as the 1st period ended knotted at 0.
In the second, the Thunder came out strong once again, however, Orlanski remained up to the task for the Ravens, swatting away the Thunder attack.
As the period went on, the Thunder became more aggressive, as Isaac Balsinao took a penalty for the Thunder, and the Ravens went on the power play.
Rambam capitalized, as Sam Kormean blasted one home , to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
Rambam kept up the pressure throughout the rest of the period, as Kormean found paydirt again, before Rambam scored again to take a 3-0 lead after 2.
In the 3rd, the Ravens kept up the pressure, and scored 3 more , with Sam completing the hat trick , while Orlanski polished off the shutout , as Rambam clinched the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Marvin Azrak shared his thoughts postgame.
“ Obviously not the way you want to end the season, but congratulations to those guys they played great “
“ I thought Jacob was outstanding in this one ! Unfortunately Charles couldn’t make it, but what are you gonna do?”
“ Right now he is, but I don’t think Jacob will be our starting goalie next year”
“ I mean our farm system is really looking good, and I think we will have a pretty good team next year!” “However, I think we need a good goalie , who can really play, so we will see who that is next year.”
“ No offense to Jacob of course “.
“ Yeah it will be really sad to watch him go, Charles was amazing and really kept us in games this season.” “ I wish him luck in varsity!”
“ I need be a lot better next year.” “ I felt like I am more capable of doing then what I showed this year, where I went scoreless.” “ I am determined to come back next year, faster and stronger, and it starts now”!

“Thanks to our coaches( Joe Shomer And David Sutton ) for a great season, hope to see you again next year!”
“ In my opinion, the team MVP was Sammy Franco. He really was the leader of this team in the game, and in practice, in my opinion.”
