MLB PLAYOFFS: YANKEES SWEEP TWINS, CARDS, DODGERS TAKE SERIES LEAD, RAYS STAVE OFF STROS.

The MLB playoffs keep getting better and better so let’s dive into these game 3s!

YANKEES SWEEP TWINS!!!

The Yankees are headed back to the ALCS after defeating the Twins 5-1 on Monday (10/7) at Target Field. Gleyber Torres went deep early and Luis Severino went 4 scoreless innings Highlighted by his bases loaded 0 outs escape in the 2nd inning. The Yankees bullpen trio of Chad Green, Adam Ottavino, Tommy Kahlene, Zack Britton and Aroldis Chapman kept the Twins at bay as well as some sparkling defensive plays by Gleyber Torres and Aaron Judge.

The Yankees will now face the Astros-Rays winner in the ALCS.

MVP: Gleyber Torres

LVP: Twins bullpen

Series MVP is identical to this game.

RAYS 10 ASTROS 3: ASTROS LEAD SERIES 2-1:

I gave it away did I? Charlie Morton went 65 innings of 1 run ball with 7Ks and the Rays were all over Zack Grenkie in this one as they went deep 4 times, as Kevin Kirmaier(3runHR), Ji Man Choi, Nate Lowe and Willy Adames all went deep keeping the Rays season alive.

MVP: Charlie Morton

LVP: Zack Greinke

BRAVES 3 CARDINALS 1: BRAVES LEAD SERIES 2-1:

This is what playoff baseball is all about! We had a thriller in ST Louis as Mike Saroka of the Braves and Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals went at it in an epic pitchers duel. The Cardinals led 1-0 entering the 9th, (With the lone run being a Matt Carpenter sac fly in the 2nd) and handed it over to closer Carlos Martinez, who with 2 outs may have just ended the Cardinals season as he allowed a game -tying RBI double to Danaby Swanson who picked an amazing time to get his first career hit off Carlos in six tries before allowing a go-ahead 2run single to Adam Duval that gave the Braves a 3-1 lead and the win putting them a game away from the ALDS.

MVP: Danaby Swanson

LVP: Carlos Martinez

DODGERS 10 NATIONALS 4: DODGERS LEAD SERIES 2-1:

The Nationals got my hopes up of actually having a shot to pull off this upset early on as Juan Soto went deep for a 2run HR to give the Nats an early 2-0 lead in Washington, but then Max Muncy went deep off Anibal Sanchez in the 5th (As the Nats are saving Scherzer for game 4) before “Opening up a can” and scoring 7 runs in the 6th inning, (4 off game starter Patrick Corbin) which was capped by a 2run HR by MVP-Candidate Cody Belinger that sent the Dodgers on there way to a 10-4 win and a 2-1 series lead.

The Nats will turn to Max Scherzer to keep there season alive against Rich Hill as Walker Buhler was pushed back for a potential game 5.

MVP: Dodgers offense

LVP: Patrick Corbin

THOUGHTS:

The Yankees sweeping the Twins allows them to rest while everyone else plays there series out. As a Yankee fan I love it and I think it will help them going forward as they chase for title number 28.
