Unfortunately, NY sports is in a slump, and this doesn’t sit well with me, so let’s get through the disappointment together.
KNICKS: 19-42
The losing streak hit 7, with losses to the Rockets (123-112), and the the 76ers(115-96)on the road, but the NYK came home and snapped that skid with a 125-115 win over the lowly Chicago Bulls (21-40), led by Mitchell Robinsion’s aggressive playing. Then, on Leon Rose’s first day as Knicks president, they stunned the Rockets at MSG 125-123, led by RJ Barret’s 27 points and clutch plays down the stretch, including his. Layup which put the Knicks up 3 with 8 seconds remaining. They withstood a furious rally by Houston, as Russell Westbrook led them on a second half surge after the Knicks led by 21. Russ finished with 32 points.
NETS: 26-33
A shocking 141-118 loss to the Hawks and a defeating 115-113 loss to the Heat the next night (2/29), when Spencer Dinwidee threw an errant pass out of bounds, with 1.7 seconds remaining, ending the game. Brooklyn has slid back to the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference behind the 7th seeded Magic, and currently staring up at a first round matchup with the NBA-best 52-9 Milwaukee Bucks.
RANGERS: 35-26-4
The winning ways continued in Montreal on Thursday(2/27), as the Rangers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Canadiens 5-2. Ryan Strome had two goals, with Adam Fox adding on a goal and an assist, while goaltender Alexander Georgiev made 35 saves as the rangers netted their 9th straight road win, and improved to 9-1 in their past 10 games. NYR now sat 2 points out of the second WC Blue Jackets with 3 games in hand, as things were looking up Blueshirts: as it only seemed inventible until they climb into that 2nd WC spot.
But then back to back losses to the red-hot Philadelphia Flyers (5-2 and 5-3) in a home and home set over the weekend, including a Chris Kreider injury to a fractured foot, a Henrik Lunquist loss in his first start since February 3rd on Sunday at MSG(3/1) ,coupled with a Blue Jackets win now has the Rangers 4 points out, with only two games in hand, and a big home tilt coming up this Tuesday against the Western-Conference leading Saint Louis Blues with the Jackets and Hurricanes-who the Rangers trail by one point-idle.
As for Philly (38-27-7) they have now won 6 straight and are second in the Metro, 3 points behind the division leading Capitals (40-19-6). They face each other Wednesday night(3/5) in DC.
ISLANDERS 35–21-8
The slump continues as the Islanders blew a 2-0 lead in Saint Louis to the Stanley Cup champion Blues, and turned it in to a 3-2 OT loss. Then after returning home, they fell to the team with the best record in hockey in the Boston Bruins 4-0. The Isles are now tied with the Blue Jackets fourth first and second Wild card in the Eastern Conference.
YANKEES:

9. We have seen a lot of Trey Amburgey this Spring, will we see him in the MLB at some point this season
10. The pitchers continue to shine for the Yankees day in and day out.
METS:
Jacob Degrom went 2 scoreless innings in his debut, while Micheal Conforto blasted a 2runHR as well. Marcus Stroman and Rick Porcello have also performed well this Spring.
NBA:
I love these Zion Williamson vs LBJ matchups! Yes, LBJ and the Lakers won both games over the weekend (118-109 and 115-109), but Zion still put up an amazing fight scoring 29 and 35 points respectively. While those are very good numbers (Next level for a rookie), it wasn’t enough .
