MONDAY'S WITH MARV 3/8: NBA ASG,RANGERS GET CRUSHED, GRIFFIN TO NETS

Overall, NBA All-Star Sunday went quicker than expected, the Rangers got demolished in Pittsburg, the Nets made another star move, all part of an action-packed sports Sunday.

NBA ALL-STAR SUNDAY:

Once again, the skills competition was won by Damonte Sabonis , who went through Julius Randle(Knicks), Luka Donic(Mavericks), and Nikokla Vucevic in the finals. The win is the Pacers guards second straight title.

As for the three point contest, it was once again Stephan Curry who stole the show, as he put up a record 31 in the first round, and only needed 28 in the finals, to defeat Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies. Once again, Steph reigns supreme from beyond the arc.

The dunk contest, didn’t feature so many household names, or spectacular , the NBA did a great job putting on a show for the fans this All-Star break. It was a battle of the rookies in the finals, where Anfreire Simmons of the Blazers, defeated Obi Toppin of the Knicks in the finals.

The game itself, was complete domination by Team Lebron, who defeated Team Durant, 170-150, with Giannis Atentakumpo of the Milwaukee Bucks taking home MVP honors, with 35 points, including hitting all 16 of his shots, throughout the contest. Meanwhile, Stephan Curry, and Damon Lillard(Hame-winner) dazzled in this one, with 28 points apiece, including some long-range half-courters.

As for the captains, team Durant were shortened, missing KD due to injury, as well as Joel Emblid, and Ben Simmons due to COVID protocols. Meanwhile, LeBron James didn’t have to exert himself too much, scoring only 13 points, as the rest of the team did the work for him.

RANGERS: 10-10-3

The Rangers started strong agonist Pittsburgh, but then gave up three goals in 61 seconds, en route to a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of the Pittsburg Penguins, putting the Rangers once again 3.5 games back of the playoffs in the Eastern Division.

BLAKE GRIFFIN TO THE NETS:

This was a case of the rich getting richer as Brooklyn agreed to a 1 year deal with the veteran center. This depends their bench, and their team. Just look at them fully healthy:

Nets starters

Kevin Durant

Kyrie Irving

James Harden

Deandre Jordan

Joe Harris

BENCH:

Blake Griffin

Jeff Green

Bruce Brown

TLC

Landry Shamet

Nicolas Claxton

Tyler Johnson

To he honest, I don’t think anyone can stop this team, not even the defending- champion Lakers.
