N&K REPORT: KYRIE TAKES OVER NY, KNICKS LOSE-HARD-FOUGHT OPENER.

T WOLVES 127 NETS 126 (OT)

Kyrie Irving stole the show in his Nets debut at Barclays Center on Wednesday night (10/23) by dropping 50 points on the Minnesota Timberwolves which was the most by a player in his season debut for a new team in NBA history. Unfortunately though, Kyrie missed the game -winning shot in overtime as the Nets(0-1) fell short 127-126 in a thrilling affair.

The Nets had a chance to win it in regulation with the game tied at 115, but Jarret Allen missed two free throws with 5.7 seconds left to force the extra frame.

Karl-Anthony-Towns had 34 points for the T Wolves (1-0) in the win.

MVP: KAT

LVP: Jarret Allen

KNICKS 111 SPURS 120

I have to say I was impressed with these guy despite the season-opening loss. Julias Randel and Marcus Morris were monsters on the boards, with Morris dropping 23 Pts himself. Meanwhile, RJ Barret slammed home 20 in his NBA debut and Kevin Knox made some big shots in the 2nd and 3rd Quaters to keep the Knicks in it. The Knicks put a scare into a playoff-caliber team in the San Antonio Spurs, overcoming a sluggish start to take a 84-83 lead after 3. But NY ran out of gas in the 4th, as the Spurs went on a 22-2 run to seal the win.

Lamracus Aldridge dropped 23 for SA in the win.

MVP: Aldgrige

LVP: Dennis Smith JR. Who had a rough 2 pt, 0 REB, 10 minute night
