Aggravation, anger, and frustration, filled Yankee Stadium as Tuesday nights game moved on.
The Yankees were being 1 hit, and shutout, by the 52 win Chicago White Sox.
However, just as they seemed down ,and out the Yankees staged an incredible comeback, to defeat the White Sox 5-4! A comeback that was capped by Neil Walker's pinch-hit walk-off HR!
When I saw the pitching matchup for this game, I was expecting a win, Lance Lynn was on the mound for the Yankees ( a white Sox slayer), while James Shields went for the White Sox.
However, it's a long baseball season, and sometimes, things get contagious, and that's what happened here, through a majority of this games the Yankees offense was stalled once again.
Meanwhile, the pitching had to keep the Yankees in this game Lance Lynn was brilliant once again, however, that mistake to Avial Garcia ( who lined an RBI double to right field in the 5th), loomed large. Lynn came back out for the top of the 6th, but couldn't get the final out of the inning, as he left the game, with runners on first and second, with two outs ,and runners inherited for Jonathan Holder.
Holder didn't fair wells he gave up two RBI singles, which brought in three runs, to the jeers, of the home fans in the bronx. down 4-0, entering the bottom of the 6th, the mood in the bronx, was gloom, and doom. But that all changed ,when Brett Gardner tripled to start the bottom of the 6th inning, however, two pop ups, brought the stadium back into it's previous state, before a Miguel Andujar two run blast, brought the Yankees swagger back for this games all of a sudden, it was only 4-2 Chicago.
Then in the 8th, Aaron Hicks hit one into the sticks with a 2 run HR to right field to tie the game at4! At that point Yankee Stadium was rocking, as they had come all the way back to wrestle the momentum away from the Chisox! In the top of the 9th, Delin Betances worked a clean inning for the Yankees to continue his historic streak, and then in the bottom of the 9th, the magic happened! With one out, Neil Walker, came into pinch hit for Ronald Torreyes ,and on the first pitch, crushed a two seam 94 MPH fastball, from Dylan Covey into the right field seats to give the Yankees a 5-4 win! This win shows you that the game can change in the blink of an eye, as Yankee Stadium went from all in jeers, to all in cheers, wow!
