The 2019 FA class is getting more and more shortened with these extensions lately.
Today, there was yet another huge contract extension, but this time by the Colorado Rockies, as they have agreed to a record 8 year, $260 million extensions with superstar 3B Nolan Arenado.
Arenado. In 6 seasons, Nolan is a 4-time All-Star, a 6 time Gold Glove winner, and a 4 time Silver Slugger winner. He has been the franchise star of the Rockies, leading them to a playoff berth in his tenure, and really showing his leadership and passion on and off the field.
So with his contract in its last year, the Rockies would either trade him or extend him. it wasn't likely that they would let him go without getting anything for Nolan.
If Nolan was to become a free agent, the Yankees would be the favorite, as they were discussing an Andujar for Arenado trade earlier in the offseason.
But on Tuesday, the Rockies and Arenado agreed to an 8 year, $260million extension, that would let him make $32.5 million a year, which is another record among position players!!!

James Hardens point streak ended at 32 games on Monday night, as he only scored 28 points, falling two points shy of continuing the streak.
The Cardinals have reached a 4 year extension with starting pitcher Mike Molakas. After that, they added to depth to the catching postion, by signing veterans Matt Weiters.

The Dodgers met with Harper on" Hail Mary for teams day", as Harper was ready to sign record 10 year , 330+ with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Out of all the teams that met with Harper over the weekend, the Dodgers emerged as serious contenders for the superstar, and now a re battling the Phillies for Harper!
