NFL PLAYOFF PICTURE WEEK 10

NFL Playoff picture headed into week 10:

AFC 1-7:

Titans 7-2:

Tennessee shocked the world on Sunday Night football, when they not only spotted 28 points on the world's best defense, but held a sizzling LA squad to 16 which barely anyone saw coming after the Derrick Hennery ACL tear to the Titans, and the Von Miller acquisition by the Rams. Kudos to the Titans for “Titans” up their gamelan and getting the win.

RAVENS 6-4

Baltimore looked headed for yet another disappointing defeat trailing 24-10 in the third against the feisty Vikings before Lamar Jackson saved his best of his three TD, 266 yards stat line for the end. Towards the end of the quarter, he marched his team down the field for a score to trim the deficit to one score. That was a sign of things to come, as Lamar uplifted the spirited home crowd with his legs, and chewed up the clock. With 3:29 remaining and the game now tied, Levon Bell snuck in from the one-yard line to give the Ravens a 31-24 lead. But Minneapolis would rally on an Adam Thielen TD from Kirk Cousins with 1:03 left, sending the game into overtime.

In the extra session, it was Justin Tucker nailing a 36-yard field goal to ensure Baltimore would stay atop the AFC North for yet another week.

CHARGERS 6-4

It wasn’t easy, but Justin Herbert threw for two scores and rushed in for one, while also going in the air for 356 yards including the late drive that set up the Dustin Hopkins FG to propel the AFC West leaders to a 27-24 win.

BILLS: 5-3

That was shocking. I’ll just leave the final score here because it doesn’t get any more putrid than this.

Bills 6, 1-6 Jaguars 9

No touchdowns in the ballgame. On the bright side, the 2-6 Jets are next!

Raiders 5-3(wild card)

Vegas was unable to retain first place, falling in an underwhelming 23-16 loss to the 3-6 Giants on the East coast. This was a crusher for Derek Carr’s squad who now face the upstart Chiefs(5-4) in week 10.

STEELERS 5-3(Wild card)

Pittsburg received their annual help from

the refs in this one, as Tony Corrente called 12 penalties on Chicago for 120 yards, missed six calls that would’ve gone the other way, called a taunting call when the Bears player didn’t point a finger at anybody, and gifted the Steelers 10 points. Even after all that, they still trailed 27-26 before a Chris Boswell 40 yard FG increased the win streak to four. In week 10, Pittsburg may not need some help as they tackle the 0-8 Lions in week 10.

Patriots 5-4(WC)

Mac Jones went 12/18 for 139 yards, while the Nee England defense stifled the “Fighting Darnolds” as Bill Bellichek likely knew him from his time with the Jets. The victory puts New England for now in the finals Wild Card spot in the AFC, having now won four of their last five games. However, they will be battle-tested in week 10 when they battle the Browns(5-4) in a matchup with major playoff implications.

NFC:

CARDINALS: 8-1

In the absence of Kyler Murray, Colt Mcoy stepped up and delivered a 45-yard strike to James Conner, and also watched as the RB ran in for two more in Arizona’s stunning win over a San Francisco team that thought they were in for a divisional win with the Cardinals missing Murray and Deandre Hopkins.

PACKERS 7-2

Without Aaron Rodgers due to COVID protocol, they succumbed in Arrowhead 13-7 to the Chiefs. On the bright side, AR12 is coming back just in time for Green Bay will do battle with the 3-5 Seahawks who are expecting Russel Wilson back against Green Bay this week.

BUCCANEERS 6-2

Even when they’re not playing, the reigning champs win. The Saints falling to the Falcons 27-25, meant Tampa remains atop the AFC South headed into their week 10 matchup against the Washington Football team.

COWBOYS 6-2

While the stunning 30-16 home loss to the Broncos was disappointing, Dallas still retains a healthy lead atop the NFC East, as the second-place Eagles are 3-6.

RAMS 7-2(Wild Card)

LA was upstaged by Tennessee on “Sunday Night football” 28-16, but the acquisitions of Von Miller to the stout defense, and Odel Beckham JR to aid Mathew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and the electrifying offense in the long run as they pursue the NFC West crown.

SAINTS 5-3(Wild Card)

Trevor Semien has shown he’s here to stay after his win over Tom Brady and the Bucs before leading a late comeback against the Falcons from 24-6 down for a 25-24 lead in six minutes. Unfortunately for NOLA, a Yunghoo Koo FG kept them out of first in the division for at least another week.

Trevor will get his first road start when the Saints travel to face the red-hot 7-2 Titans in week 10.

FALCONS 4-4(Wild Card)

Matt Ryan threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns in a stunning road win over the upstart Saints that keeps Atlanta afloat in the treasure trove of playoff hopefuls for the #7 spot in the NFC. Another tough test awaits them though as they will be battle-tested when they clash with the 6-2 Cowboys in week 10.

MY W-L GAME PREDICTION REPORT: 92-55(.625)
