NY RECAP: SPORTS IS CRAZY NOWADAYS!

Recapping a thrilling last two weeks in sports.

Knicks 17-65: The season is mercifully over.

Nets: 43-41. This team MADE THE PLAYOFFS!

The Nets finished with a 42-40 regular season record and good enough for the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference.

In round 1, the Nets faced off against the powerhouse known as the Philadelphia 76ers. In game 1 of this best of 7 series Deangelo Russel poured in 26 points, as the Nets stole home court with a 111-102 win.

But In game2, the 76ers flexed their muscles, as they poured 145 points on the Nets, including 51 in the third, rolling to a 145-123 game 2 win.

Game 3 is tonight in Brooklyn.

Season ends with a 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins! Two days later, the Blueshirts shockingly get the second pick in the 2019 NHL draft, as they moved up four spots in the Draft Lottery!

Islanders: 52-27-7

How to sweep it is!!

Those last four wins come from a shocking first-round sweep of the former Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins!

In this series, it was Jordan Eberle who stole the show, coming out of nowhere, leading the charge for the Islanders.

NHL playoffs:

East:

Atlantic:

*Lightning (1) get swept by (4) Blue Jackets 4-0!

Bruins (2) and the Maple Leafs (3) are tied at 2.

Metropolitan:

Capitals (1) lead the Hurricanes (4) 2-1.

Jets (2) and Blues (3) are tied at 2.

*= History is made.

The Lightning tied the NHL record for the most wins ever in a regular season with 62, before getting swept by the Columbus Blue Jackets who won their first series in franchise history.

Yankees: 8-9

Saving this for my next fan letter.

Mets 10-8

They got to 5-1, before starting to go into a slump.

The problem for the Mets has been their pitching, as they have been unable to hold leads or keep the Mets powerful offense in games. The big offensive charge by the Mets has been led by rookie Pete Alonzo, as his power has captivated the eyes of baseball fans everywhere.

Another positive for the Mets is that all the teams in the NL East have shown struggles with pitching which is why the Mets only trail the Phillies by 1.5 games for the Division lead.

March Madness:

One year after becoming the first ever 1 seed to lose in round 1. Virginia has completed the redemption tour as they ousted Texas Tech 85-77 in overtime to win the National Championship.
