1983: North Carolina defeats Houston for the NCAA title 54-52, after a Lorenzo Charles buzzer-beating slam.


1986: What’s funny is I got a question about that earlier, and here it is! The Great one sets the NHL points record with point #213 on the year. Congratulations Wayne Gretzky.


1989: Tommy John enters his 26th season in the Majors by throwing 7 innings of 2 run ball with 3K’s, despite allowing 10 hits, lifting the Yankees to a 4-2 win over the Twins.


2016: Vilinova defeats UNC 77-74 on a buzzer-beating 3 by Jenkins


APRIL 5TH:

1984: Kareem-Abdul Jabbar sets the NBA record for points with 32,421, passing the great Wilt Chamberlin.


1998: The DiamondBacks win their first game ever! A 3-2 win over the San Francisco Giants.


2012: No better way to open the year with a 16 inning game right? That’s what happened as the Blue Jays defeat the Indians 7-4 on a walk-off HR JP Arenciba walks it off with a 3run HR.
