1957: Despite Kandas 54-53 OT loss to North Carolina in the NCAA championship game, Wilt Chamberlin became finals MOP (Most outstanding player) despite being on the losing team, becoming the 3rd player to do so. Bill Spivey(1951), BH Born (1953) were the others.
1994: Wayne Gretzky sets the NHL record with 802 career goals in a 6-3 Kings loss to the Canucks at Staples Center.
2000: Joe Sackic becomes the All-Time scoring leader for the Avalanche franchise, with his 400th career goal in a 4-2 win over the Coyotes.
