ON THIS DAY IN SPORTS... (MARCH 29TH)

On this day in sports...

1929: The Bruins win the Stanley Cup by defeating the Rangers 2-1 for a 2 game sweep at MSG. Yes, back then the Final was a 3 game series as opposed to the best of-7 we have today.

1948: You know the old saying... “Their are no ties in baseball” and that even applied to Spring Training back then, as the Yankees and Red Sox played on until the 17th, when the game was finally with the teams deadlocked at 2. Still, ST games today only go 10 innings at most.

1985: The “Great one” strikes again by breaking his own record with his 126th assist of the season.
