RED THUNDER POWER! FRAZIERS’ BLAST LIFTS YANKS PAST O’S!

Red and Orange go well together, don’t they?

In a park full of orange, the Yankees show off their Red thunder power, in a 6-4 thrilling victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night (4/6) in front of a packed crowd at Camden Yards.

This was a rematch of last Sunday’s battle at Yankee Stadium, and once again both JA Happ and Dylan Bundy didn’t last through 5 innings.

Both pitchers being gone set up and epic battle of the bullpens in the final 4 innings.


The Yankees started the game off with a bang, as Aaron Judge connected for his first HR of the season as he blasted a 412FT tape measure shot in the second at-bat of the game, to give the Yankees an early 1-0 lead. But the Orioles responded as Yankee killer Trey Mancini hurt the Yankees again, as he went deep off JA Happ In the bottom half of the first to tie the game at 1.

But Aaron Judge wasn’t done, as he went deep again in the 3rd for a 2run shot that traveled 418FT to give the Bombers a 3-1 lead.


Meanwhile, JA Happ gave the Yankees everything he could through 4.1IP, as he was charged his second and final run of the game for him on a Renato Nunez RBI single in the 5th to cut the O’s deficit to 3-2.

Jonathan Holder came into relieve Happ and was doing a good job until the 7th inning when the Orioles took the lead.

With runners on the corners and one out, Chris Davis reached on an RBI fielders choice, as Greg Birds throw to the plate was high, forcing in the tying run.

Later in the inning, Rio Ruiz lofted a sac fly to left to give the Orioles a 4-3 lead after seven innings of play and stunning the Yankees up to that point in the game.


But as Yankees manager Aaron Boone said “One thing this team does well is compete “, and that’s exactly what the Yankees did for the rest of the game.

With 2 outs, 2 men on, and 2 strikes, Clint Frazier mashed his 1st Yankees HR since July, to left field for a big 3run blast that gave the now ecstatic Yankees a 6-4 lead.

In the bottom of the 8th, Chad Green worked out of bases loaded, two outs jam by getting Chris Davis to hit a grounder to 1B Greg Bird to end the threat.

In the 9th, Aroldis Chapman notched the save to seal a 6-4 Yankees victory and improve their record to 4-4 on the season.


LEFTOVERS:

Tyler Wade made an amazing play at 2B in the bottom of the first inning, as he robbed Joey Rickard of a bad hit with an amazing off-balance throw.

Down by a run in the 7th, Adam Ottavino relieved Holder, was able to escape the inning with his team only down 4-3.

Another scoreless outing for Ottavino!

THOUGHTS

Thank you Clint “Red Thunder” Frazier. As his HR saved us from another embarrassing loss to the O’s. Hope we are able to complete the sweep on Sunday!

The Yankees will go for the sweep on Sunday (4/7) when Yankees pitcher Domingo German will go up against David Hess of Baltimore.
