REVENGE IS SO SWEET! YANKEES BASH RANGERS IN BRONX.

The Yankees mashed 5HRs and James Paxton had 12ks as one day after being shutout by the Rangers, they bashed them 10-1 on Tuesday night (9/3) at a raucous Yankee Stadium in the Bronx,NY.

The win lowers the Yankees magic number to clinch the AL East down to 13.

The Yankees got to Rangers starter Ariel Jurado early and often as Gary Sanchez went deep for a 2run HR in the 1st to give the Yankees a quick 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 6th, with James Paxton dealing having 12Ks with no runs allowed, the Yankees rewarded hi. With more HRs as Didi Gregorius walloped a 3run HR that gave the Yankees a 5-0 lead sending the crowd into a frenzy as the Yankees were on their way.

One pitch later, Gary Sanchez went deep again for his second HR of the game, before Brett Gardner followed up an Edwin Encarnacion single (In Edwins 1st game back from the IL) with a HR of his own giving the Yankees a commanding 8-0 lead and giving the “Mad house” Yankee Stadium crowd something to go crazy about.

In the 7th, after Paxton had departed with 7 scoreless innings and 12Ks under his belt, Edwin Encarnacion went deep for a 2run HR to give the Yankees a 10-0 lead as they would roll to a 10-1 win.

MVP: James Paxton

THOUGHTS:

Wow! We were really in the zone tonight! I guess the Yankees were really that mad about getting shutout on Monday with the way they played today by putting up 10 runs on the board tonight. Paxton showed once again why we traded for him as his last few starts have really been amazing to see!

Also, I really think the crowd was angry too because they were extra into it tonight and it paid off! Let’s keep the good Bronx vibes rolling and win the series on Wednesday! Let’s go Yankees!!

STATS TO KNOW:

Gary Sanchez now has 34HRs this season. That is the most ever by a Yankee catcher in a single season.

Yankees 12+ K, 0 ER, 1 Hit or Fewer in a game:

James Paxton (9/3/2019 vs TEX)

Mike Mussina (9/2/2001 vs BOS)

Gary Sanchez: 14th career multi-HR game in 365th career game.

Only player in MLB history with more multi-HR games this early into a career is Ralph Kiner (17).

Yankees still havent lost back to back games in the same homestand since April 2-3 vs Tigers.

For the 21st straight year, the Yankees have passed the 3 million mark in fan attendance adding on to their major league record. Unbelievable!

UP NEXT:

The Yankees will look for the series win on Wednesday night (9/4) when they send Chad Green to the mound as the “Opener” against former Yankee Lance Lynn of the Rangers. Game time is 6:35PM.
