Roller Hockey Roar: Yeshiva's Dominant in NCRHA opener

The Yeshiva University Roller Hockey hitting the NCRHA stage for the very first time in the 2023-24 season. They were up against their conference rivals, Vermont, on an early Sunday morning at 7 AM. And what did they do? They showed up and showed out with a resounding 11-0 victory.

The Macs wasted no time, scoring just 56 seconds into the game. A quick tripping call by William Yep handed the Macs a golden opportunity, and they seized it. Benj Froom, in a flash, poked one into the net, giving them a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later, Froom redirected a shot from Zach Levy to double their lead.

When Vermont took a penalty, Yeshiva pounced. EITAN Levy found the back of the net, thanks to some outstanding teamwork, with Froom and Yoni Drazin setting the stage. Captain Drazin himself joined the goal-scoring party with a little help from Ariel Greenberg, capping off a fantastic four-goal opening frame.

The Macs didn't ease up in the second period. Donny Fuchs connected with Drazin, whose shot made it 5-0. Beautiful cycling led to Zach Levy scoring in a tic-tac-toe play involving Froom and Gabriel Rosenblatt. Soon after, Sol Feder, an offseason addition, netted his first NCRHA goal and then set up Froom for a hat trick.

In the third period, Zach Levy fed Gabriel Rosenblatt, highlighting the remarkable chemistry between the two defensemen. Zach also found Drazin, who completed a captain's hat trick, pushing YU into double digits. Feder then connected with EITAN Levy to seal the comprehensive victory.

Between the pipes, Joshua Lieberman made nine saves to secure the shutout, while the Macs bombarded the Vermont goaltender with 36 shots. The result left Vermont at 0-3, while Yeshiva celebrated a fantastic start to a season filled with national championship dreams.

And the stars of the game? You've got Yoni Drazin, the hat-trick hero with 3 goals and 2 assists; Benji Froom, also with a hat trick, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists; and Zach Levy, who had a goal and 3 assists, making it a memorable
