Alex Bregman hit two homers and two doubles, driving in a career-high six runs and as Houston roared past the White Sox 21-5, splitting the four game series.
The Astros wound up with 25 hits as Bregman, Kyle Tucker and Christian Vazquez tied career highs with four each.
Houston scored six times in the fourth inning, shelling White Sox starter Lucas Giolito(9-7, 5.34 ERA) who went three innings, allowed seven runs on eight hits, with five strikeouts.
Luis Garcia (10-8, 4.09 ERA) blanked Chicago for the first four innings but gave up Yoan Moncada’s three-run homer in the fifth, and allowed seven hits, walking four. The Astros are now 34 games over .500, leading the Yankees by 3.5 games for the one seed with the tiebreaker in hand as well.
