SPORTS UPDATE:YANKEES POP BOTTLES, GIANTS FINALLY WIN, AND MORE!

Hey guys , sorry I haven’t posted in a while , but I am back , and we have a lot to talk about . So let’s get to it !

MLB:

Let’s picked up right where we left off, the New York Yankees were heading into their weekend series with the lowly Baltimore Orioles, needing two wins to clinch a playoff berth.

They did just that, as after a 10-8 win on Friday night, the Yankees outlasted the Orioles in 11 innings 3-2, on Saturday (9/22), as Aaron Hicks made sure the Yankees bullpen was rewarded for their six scoreless innings of worldly, when he doubled into deep left field to score Didi Gregorius all the way from first base, who’s incredible slide put the Yankees in the playoffs!!!

Up next for the Bombers, was clinching home field for the October 3rd AL Wild Card game , against the Oakland Athletics.

Well , the Yankees regular season home finale , didn’t help that cause , as they fell to the Baltimore Orioles 6-3, by the bullpen giving up 5 runs in the final 4 innings of the game , and the offense being a no show , after scoring 3 in the first . But that wasn’t even the worst part of Sunday’s series finale , as it was reported after the game , that Didi Gregorius, tore his wrist cardlidge , and might be out for the season.

It was a huge blow for the Yankees , as they flew out to Tampa Bay, but they were able to recollected themselves, and puke the Rays!

In game one, the Yankees used their bullpen from start to finish , in order to give their starters an extra day of rest.

The Yankees bullpen, was up to the task, as 8 pitchers , went 9 innings of 1 run, 2 hit ball in the Yankees 4-1 victory!

As for the offense, Andrew Mccutchen, had a HR, and 2 RBIs, while Aaron Judge, Brett Gardner, and Giancarlo Stanton , each tacked on RBIs of their own’!

However, this win came with a price , as Aaron Hicks , and Gleyber Torres were added to the list of injured Yankees.

For Hicks , it was a hamstring injury, for Gleyber , it was a strained groin.

The injury’s may keep on coming, but the Yankees just keep on wining, as they were able to trounce the Rays again in game two, with a 9-2 blowout victory in Florida!

Gary Sanchez had 4 RBIs , including a huge 3 run HR , that capped off a 7 run 3rd inning for the Yankees!!

As for the pitching, Luis Severino , went 5 innings of 2 run ball, in his final start of the regular season.

Adeiny Hecehveria, and Miguel Andujar, also went deep , which helped propel the Yankees offense .

In game three , 3 runs in the first , and 4 in the 9th, weren’t enough for the Yankees, as they fell to the Rays 8-7.

Yankees starter , Masahiro Tanaka, only lasted 4 innings , while giving up 4 runs .

Neil Walker hit a 3run HR in the first for NY, while Aaron Judge , Luke Voit,and Giancarlo Stanton had big hits in the 9th, but it wasn’t enough.

It was a tough loss , sure , but the Yankees did a great job of bouncing back , as they finished the series firing on all cylinders, as they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays , on Thursday (9/27),12-1!

CC Sabathia went 5 scoreless innings for the Yankees, before getting ejected from the game , by hitting a batter .

CC , was 2 innings away from a $500K bonus, but chose to stand up for his teammates instead of that.

As for the offense, Miguel Andujar, Luke Voit , and Giancarlo Stanton (2x) all went deep for the Yankees, while Aaron Judge has 2 RBIs , and Brett Gardner fell a triple short of the cycle .

Up next : The Yankees now head to Boston Friday(9/28), for the final series of the regular season , against the Boston Red Sox( 107-52) . JA Happ will get the ball for the Yankees, while Brian Johnson will go for the Red Sox .

Game time : 7:10 PM from Fenway Park .

Injury’s :

Gleyber Tortes, returned to the lineup , in the series finale , against the Rays , while Aaron Hicks , and Didi Gregorius will come back on Friday night in Boston.

Magic number :

The Yankees magic number to clinch home field advantage in the WC game , Is 1, meaning , a Yankees win, or an A’s loss over the weekend will mean that the Yankees will host the A’s in the Wild Card game on Wednesday (10/3).

I won’t mention the Browns here, because we talked about them already .

Giants:

Big Blue finally got it together in Houston, as they defeated the Houston Texans (0-3), 27-22 , on Sunday (9/23), for their first win of the season!

Eli Manning, Saquon Barkley, Odel Beckham JR, and Sterling Sheppard finally meshed well , propelling the G men.

The Giants raced out to a 20-3 lead, and hung on for the win, as the defense did a great job of shutting down Deshan Watson, and the Texans hot offense .

Up next :

The Giants (1-2), will return home to take on Drew Brees,and the New Orleans Saints (2-1), on Sunday (9/30).

Expect a shootout between the two teams.
