STATE OF THE NETS!

It’s crazy to think now, but just five years ago, the Nets were considered the NBAs most hopeless franchise. They traded 4 future 1st round Draft picks in exchange for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry (among other assets on both sides). Almost immediately after the trade the Nets began to get worse and worse and have been winning only 20+ each of the past few seasons.

However, last year, a number of savvy moves by GM Sean Marks (including the signing of Joe Harris and Spencer Dinwiddie, and trading for D'Angelo Russell) and the drafting of Caris Levert, Jarrett Allen, and Rodions Kurucs, the Brooklyn Nets had managed to recover from the worst trade in NBA history to being even better than a handful of teams that have drafted in the NBA lottery each of the past few seasons, before now arguably being the best in the East with the Free agent acquisitions of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Although this did end up costing the Nets Deangelo Russel, Trever Graham’, Shabbat Napier (All 3 of these guys went to the Warriors ), Demore Carrol ( Spurs) and Jared Dundly( Lakers). The Nets faithful was still ecstatic about what they got and they should.

Kevin Durant may be out for the 2020 season, but with Kyrie Irving leading the way, expect the Nets to be a contender in the East this season and when KD come back next year ;along with the development of the guys that have improved from this upcoming season) , expect the Nets to at least take the Eastern Conference crown in 2021!

Again all of this after ultimately not having a draft pick of their own 5 years straight! Tip of the cap to Sean Marks and his staff. What a job! BROOKLYN B-BALL IS BACK!

But while it seems to be back now, one Nets fan doesn’t seem surprised by this as JoSpey Shabbot says “ The Brooklyn Nets arrived before Kyrie and KD Signed... it just took them signing for the world to notice it”.

Despite acquiring the KD and Kyrie combo, the Nets still needed to fill out their roster with veterans and they did just that, with the acquisition of veteran center Deandre Jordan to play along with the big duo in what should be an epic big 3 in the East, as well as veterans Theo Pinstion, Garret Temple and Taurean Prince to round out their Veteranship.

MY PREDICTION: Nets go 53- 29 this upcoming season. Good for the 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. Get eliminated in RD2.
