STATE OF THE NY RANGERS.

The Rangers gave us hope when they started the season 2-0, after big wins over the Winnipeg Jets (6-4), and the lowly Ottawa Senators (4-1), but since the bye week, the Rangers have fallen, as they lost to the previously undefeated Edmonton Oilers (4-1), the previously winless New Jersey Devils (5-2), one of the top teams in the Metro division in the Washington Capitals (5-2) , the young and upcoming Vancouver Canucks (3-2) losing last night in overtime to the Arizona Coyotes (3-2). Right now, the Rangers are on a 5 game losing streak at 2-4-1. Personally, I’m sticking by my prediction of 41-36-5 and a playoff berth for these Rangers, who have a young team with a lot of holes.

At times, the defense has looked lost and that is overshadowing amazing performances by goaltenders Henrik Lunquist And Alexander Georgiev. They have taken a lot of penalties which has led to a lot of goals against them making it tough for a young offense, led by star FA acquisition Artermi Pannarin and Mika Zibanejad to keep up and win games.

This has made head coach David Quinn very frustrated and I don’t blame him. I understand this is still a rebuilding team, but this team is better then it is playing right now. They must regroup, against a very tough 8-1-1 Buffalo Sabers team on Thursday night (10/24) at MSG , before taking on another tough team in the 6-1-2 Boston Bruins on Sunday (10/27) also at MSG.

Before I go, here is a breakdown of the Rangers 19 goals this season:

Mika: 4

Panarin: 4

Tony Deangelo 3

Jesper Fast: 2

Jacob Truba : 1

Panel Buchnevich: 1

Kappo Kakko 1

Brett Howden : 1

Brendan Smith : 1

Marc Stall: 1

Thus Team can reboun. They are very capable of doing so. Let’s go Rangers!!!
